Award for Nurse Practitioner of the Year

The Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association wishes to recognize annually, a nurse practitioner who evidences leadership and excellence in the delivery of health care within his/her professional practice. This award is a way of publicly honoring the high quality health care services that nurse practitioners offer as primary care providers and expanding public awareness of these services.

Call for Nominations

The Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association (ANPA) is soliciting your nominations for the Alaska Nurse Practitioner of the Year.

This award will be presented to a nurse practitioner in Alaska who demonstrates leadership and excellence in his/her professional practice, and by doing so has made an important contributions to the improvement in health care and/or nurse practitioner practice.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee with recommendations provided to the Executive Committee of the ANPA.

Award Criteria

  • Currently licensed in the United States as a registered nurse.
  • Is recognized to practice as a nurse practitioner in Alaska.
  • Demonstrates leadership and excellence in professional practice as a nurse practitioner and is a role model for other nurse practitioners.
  • Has markedly contributed to raising the standard of care to a higher level for individual clients, families and/or communities.
  • Is caring and creative in approach to primary care.
  • Demonstrates a positive effect on clients and colleagues.
  • Incorporates current research into practice to raise the standard of care.
  • Promotes the growth of the profession of nurse practitioner.

How to Nominate

  • All nominations must be typed or clearly printed.
  • All nominations submitted become the property of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association
  • Along with nominations from clients, colleagues, co-workers and administrators, nurse practitioners are encouraged to nominate themselves.
  • All nominations must be received by July 31, in order to be considered for this award.
  • The winner will be announced at the Annual Nurse Practitioner Conference.
